I have been on a quest of sorts for several years now, searching for an app that could reasonably simulate the sound of a real drummer playing acoustic drums. More than that, I was looking for an app that would allow me to create drum tracks efficiently which could be exported as separate mono tracks.
Every app I tried fell short of this goal, unfortunately, so when DrumPerfect was released I was optimistic but wary. What I found was an app that came closer than ever before to what I'd been searching for. I began corresponding with the developer and discovered he was open to user suggestions, so I made a lot of them. I also passed along suggestions from other members here at synthpatcher, and I'm happy to report that almost every suggestion has made it into the 1.02 update.
DrumPerfect is really coming together and I believe it represents a major leap for the iOS music platform.
This video is intended to introduce the DrumPerfect 1.02 update and explain it's basic features. In future videos, I will cover more advanced features, offer tips on workflow practices, and explain the methods that will produce the most realistic sounding results.
