WARNING: These sounds are not for the faint hearted; prepare to be taken on a terrifying journey into the darkest corners of your imagination with GraySynther's AREA-51 patch bank that really takes iSEM to a whole new level.

If you're looking for an entire soundtrack for your next SciFi movie, this bank could get you most of the way there and many of the sounds are evocative of famous SciFi films, think Blade Runner, Alien, etc... We also reckon that you've probably never heard iSEM sound anything quite like this; scary, eerie, spacious, dark and menacing, slowly evolving works of suspense and fear inducing dissonance, we strongly suggest you don't explore these sounds late at night... unless of course, that's your thing? But don't say you were't warned if you have nightmares!

Demo by Baddcr. Note: this doesn't do the full bank any justice at all, I hope it gives you some idea of what to expect. Each of the 6 sections are just one sound from iSEM.

This patch bank has been months in the making and represents a huge amount of work, many of the sounds have taken hours of experimentaion; so is priced the same as other banks containing more sounds, but trust us, there are hours of sound to explore! If you can't imagine how these sounds are created with iSEM, you're probably going to learn a lot too. To get the most from this bank allow the sounds to evolve over significant periods of time, press more than one key at once across the entire range of the keyboard, mix white and black keys, lots of dark fun to be had in the lower registers.

P.s. there are a few moments of airy respite in some of the patches too, you know, those bits in the film where you think everything is alright, just before it goes much, much darker!!!

For those of you who don’t know GraySynther, he has been programming hardware and software synths for over 20 years and is very good at it. In making these patches all this experience was put to the test, I know this because I sat and watched as he spent hours tweaking just one patch! In some ways this patch bank distills some of that experience and makes it available for you to enjoy and study; it really is too good to miss – highly recommended!

I had to buy this, seeing as how Area 51 is less than 50 miles from my house. Well, that and the fact that iSEM is tops and so is GraySynther.

    Sweet!

“Blush” Enjoy & Remember to leave them running for a good while, before hitting more notes..they can become quite absorbing.
I have added a few tips & Suggestions on using the Bank in the Area 51 Thread in the Forum. :)

Wow, Animoog and iSEM patches within 4 days of each other – great content this month! Those are probably my two “highest quality” synths.

Question about downloads, though. I tried to download the file from an iPad after paying for it (later realized that you need a desktop computer to transfer it anyway). The download did not go through, and there is no email for a DL link – it now prompts me to pay again even though it was purchased with my account. How do I resolve that?

      Hey StormJH1,

Thanks for the compliments I am sure ZenLizard and GraySynther will be very happy to read them! There’s another bank coming very very soon too – watch this space 😉

Sorry the download hasn’t worked, it should be ok, and there should be an email, possibly in your junk folder? Either way, I’ll email you the bank right now, don’t worry, you will get them, we always look after everyone here wherever possible :)
